Fajita News: The Teasing Begins

Work on Fajita #12 is underway, and it’s looking to be possibly the biggest, most insane entry the comic has ever seen, and that’s saying something. It’s proving to be quite a task as well, but frankly I’m just plain excited to have arrived at this point in the story. My only real concern is delivering it the best way I possibly can. I owe Fajita a lot after all. I learned everything practical I know about comics from working on it these (nearly) 4 years.

Number 12 is going to be the payoff to things that have been building up since the beginning of Act 01. For the next couple of weeks, I’m going to be running teasers for it as Comic pages. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I’ll add a new word with every update. Words that, when read together, form the tagline of this upcoming chapter. Naturally, I’ll leave these to you all to decipher. That is, until the big reveal.

Also, I highly recommend taking some time to re-read the comic while waiting for the new chapter to drop. You can check out the updated Cast and Storyline page to see the current characters in focus, an introduction to the latest chapter, as well as a list of all the other chapters from the story (with their own introductions).

As always, thanks for keeping up with the comic, and thanks for all your patience while awaiting this new entry. It’s gonna be crazy.

Katsucon 2013

Oh Hai!

So as I mentioned a little ways back we are going to be a Katsucon this weekend as guests and we will be doing all sorts of panels. Katsucon has a nifty little schedule system that helps you find panels you are interested in based on guest or topic and even give a heads up as to whether you are interested in attending the panel in question. So the point is if you want to see our panels (or avoid them altogether -_-), then head over to the schedule page and check it out.

CLEARANCE TIME!

The big news about this con is we are doing a blow out clearance! While we will be offering a few new prints (a possibly Pixie items!), we will be mainly focused on selling out our old inventory to make make way for all new stuff coming up soon. So….Shirts are our biggest discount as the price will be cut in half to $10 and that includes our best seller, the “Team Edward” shirt. We will also be offering good deals on all our prints and even more so when you buy in bulk. So stuff by the booth and i’m sure we can work out a deal on something, but to quote the local furniture TV ads….”EVERYTHING MUST GO!”

Frolic: A Fairy Tale

We have a little something special to announce today. While it’s not Darkstar related in the sense of our comic lineup, it does pertain to one of our artists.

Ryan Thompson is possibly one of the hardest working webcomic artists I have ever met. When I met Ryan he showed me his sketchbook and told me his ideas and a few months later I welcomed him aboard, but if you told me he would surpass 400 comics in only 3 years time I would have called you a liar.

Truth be told it still surprises me to this day how hard he works a this stuff and it inspires me to do more with my art as well (now that the sites updated haha). I can say in total honesty that Darkstar wouldn’t be the place it is today without him, so it brings me great pleasure to announce his latest comic endeavor.

Scenic Frolic which launched today is Ryan’s newest comic and has it’s very own home over at http://scenicfrolic.com/.

Just to be clear this is not a Darkstar comic, and because it isn’t doesn’t mean Ryan and I aren’t mad at each other, Fajita will stop updating, or anything like that. Ryan, much like any other comic artist has other projects and agendas in his life and while he is part of Darkstar, he is also his own person wit his own goals, so please head over to scenic frolic and support his efforts…Please.
