The biggest news out of there:  Natal is now Kinect.  It will be out this November with 15 launch titles (which look exactly like Wii launch titles, joy).  Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood looks AWESOME.  There is a new Xbox 360 – it comes with a 250 gig HDD, is slimmer, black, quieter, and has built-in WiFi.  It will run $299 just like the Elite…although the Elite has dropped 50 bucks as of this morning (so has the arcade).  The new ‘box shipped yesterday and will be in stores later this week.  Everyone at the MS conference got the new ‘box for free, probably to make up for all the shitty casual titles they had to sit through for Kinect.  Microsoft was mostly Kinect stuff, and a really awesome Halo Reach trailer.  Also some nice looking Gears of War gameplay.  EA showed off a brand new, totally sexy trailer for Old Republic, but didn’t show any gameplay (there’s supposed to be some at the game; G4 will air it tonight during their evening round ups).  Crysis 2 is coming to consoles…in 3D.  Ubisoft made a game that teaches you how to breathe and destress, which you could do for free on your own.

If you’re new to the site and wondering who the hell I am….  Well, that’s hard to say.  I’m mostly around to break up the monotony of the front page and make it look like something’s actually going on over here.    I used to write reviews for [sic] Productions, now I write reviews for ComicAttack.net, and sometimes jabber on about things here as well.

The last time I was here was just before Christmas, where I posted about my interview with Dark Horse Comics’ Director of Asian Licensing, Michael Gombos.  I’ve done a lot of manga reviews since then, and some comic book reviews as well.  Like this one, for Image Comics’ Underground mini-series, and this one, for Zenescope’s Grimm Fairy Tales TPB vol. 7.  I have also posted some of my recent anime reviews in the forum, so check those out as well.

Jax has asked me to do a video game write up, but I haven’t been playing a whole lot of them lately.  I still haven’t beat Dragon Age Origins or Mass Effect 2, and I’m currently also in the middle of Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth.  The only game I’ve finished recently is Nostalgia.  Oh, and I guess I beat Assassin’s Creed 2 not too, too long ago.  Maybe I’ll talk about Nostalgia soon.  Though if you’ve played Skies of Arcadia, you’ve already played Nostalgia.

By the way, did you know Darkstar Studios has a Facebook fan page?  Also, I finally joined the twittering legions.

I was fortunate enough to get an interview with Dark Horse Comics’ Director of Asian Licensing.  This is the guy who works directly with Asian publishers to work out licensing agreements for their titles.  He also does some translating now and then (as does his wife).  His name is Michael Gombos, and he was very thorough in answering my questions for me.  If you’re interested in how Dark Horse licenses titles, and their view on the manga industry, then you can check out my interview here!

By the way, have you seen this?  It had me laughing so hard I couldn’t breathe, and tears were in my eyes.

Number one being this:

In case it’s not obvious, that is indeed a wedding cake with little Star Wars Galactic Heroes’ Han and Leia as cake toppers.  It is (was) MY wedding cake.  It was yummy.

Also, I was working on a couple of big posts for ComicAttack.net. Since it was Halloween, I decided to take a look at vampire oriented anime and manga.  I split it (based on my opinions) into the good (or at least, the better) series and the crap series.  Part 1 covers the better titles.  Part 2 covers everything else.  Due to the wedding, my anime viewing pretty much stalled out, so I’m trying to get back into the swing of things in that regard.  I recently finished the AIR motion picture, and I’m about to begin watching the Berserk anime.  Still plowing through Kingdom Hearts on the DS, and replaying ICO and Lost Odyssey.

Might I suggest posting your Halloween photos from the weekend over in the forum?

I’ll be out of town next week, but for those interested, on ComicAttack.net, my Monday Bento Bako Weekly will highlight the best (or at least, the better) anime and manga titles featuring vampires.  Just in time for Halloween!
